General Thatt Maha There Sithu Thatt Thiri Thudama Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, attended the ceremony, awarding medals to 51 decorated personnel and expressing appreciation for those who diligently defended the country in various posts but did not receive medals.

  General Min Aung Hlaing stated at the ceremony that every year on Independence Day, the Myanmar Armed Forces award honors to outstanding contributors and those who have made outstanding contributions and performed heroic acts in fulfilling their arduous duties, even at the cost of their lives. This ceremony followed tradition, paying tribute to the 51 recipients of the "Medal of Valor." He particularly praised those who steadfastly performed their duties in defending the country but did not receive medals, emphasizing that their contributions were equally worthy of recognition.

  General Min Aung Hlaing pointed out that the Myanmar Armed Forces have not only participated in military conflicts but have also established a unique historical milestone in the political struggle, establishing the country's political leadership. He urged members of the Myanmar Armed Forces and their families to cherish the honor of the armed forces, deeply understand the profound significance of independence and the responsibility to defend the country, and diligently and bravely perform their duties. He emphasized that the medals are an affirmation of the recipients' loyalty to the nation and its people, and their dedication to duty; they are the honors they deserve. The nation and the Armed Forces will continue to provide necessary welfare guarantees for military families, cultivate and encourage brave and loyal soldiers, and ensure the due treatment of Armed Forces members.

  Regarding military development, General Min Aung Hlaing stated that the Myanmar Armed Forces are developing and building themselves into a modern, patriotic army, focusing on creating a disciplined and highly capable elite force to ensure effective participation in conventional warfare and avoid being exploited or manipulated on the global political stage.

  Speaking of the election process, General Min Aung Hlaing pointed out that the first phase of the multi-party democratic elections was successfully held on December 28, 2025, and the second and third phases will proceed this month. This process reflects the Myanmar Armed Forces' respect for the nation and its people, their adherence to commitments, and their integrity and dedication. The conscientious performance of duties by the officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces laid the foundation for the smooth conduct of the elections. He emphasized that for a strong and stable democratic system to be established, all citizens must actively participate in all aspects of ensuring the smooth conduct of elections, and the Myanmar Armed Forces will continue to work hand in hand with the people.

  During the medal-awarding ceremony, General Min Aung Hlaing presented medals of bravery to 7 colonels, 6 lieutenant colonels, 14 majors, 4 captains, 1 first lieutenant, 4 warrant officers, 1 quartermaster sergeant, 3 sergeants, 5 corporals, and 6 privates first class. During the ceremony, the General hosted a tea party for the award recipients, and the Myawaddy Entertainment Troupe provided song and dance performances.

  After the ceremony, General Min Aung Hlaing, along with his wife and entourage, warmly greeted the medal recipients.

  Also present at the ceremony were: General Dujujura, wife of the General; General Tiri Pianchi Maha Tere Situ Sowin, Vice Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces; Zeya Kyotin Tare Situ Uniuso, member of the Council and Prime Minister, and his wife; other members of the Council and their families; senior officers and their families from the Commander-in-Chief's Office; federal officials; federal ministers and their families; medal recipients and their heirs; and others.
