Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government is conducting a systematic crackdown operation in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas, which have been plagued by rampant online fraud and gambling activities. The operation is led by a joint team of security personnel, administrative departments, and local officials, with key measures including the seizure of illegal online gambling-related items and the organized demolition of illegal buildings.
In today's operation, the joint team demolished three four-story illegal buildings in three locations in the Myawaddy-Mettawale (KK Park) area. These three buildings were reportedly used for online fraud and gambling activities. To date, 491 of the 635 illegal buildings in the KK Park area have been systematically demolished. To ensure complete destruction, for buildings demolished using heavy machinery, law enforcement officers also used incinerators for subsequent processing. Since this method of destruction was implemented on December 14, five two-story buildings have been completely destroyed, bringing the total number of such completely destroyed two-story buildings to 41.

It is worth noting that, to prevent foreigners from illegally occupying properties in Myawaddy Township and surrounding areas, and subsequently engaging in online fraud and gambling activities, the joint task force launched a special search and cleanup operation on December 8th. Statistics show that, to date, the task force has inspected 464 properties, of which 12 were found to be used for online fraud and gambling activities. These properties have been sealed off to prevent further use for illegal purposes.
Furthermore, yesterday the joint task force systematically burned items previously used for online fraud and gambling in KK Park and the Shwe Kok area, curbing the resurgence of illegal activities at their source. The Myanmar government has clearly emphasized that eradicating online fraud and gambling is a national responsibility, and will continue to coordinate domestic efforts and strengthen cooperation with neighboring governments to resolutely ensure that such illegal activities have no room to grow within Myanmar.
