The Federal Minister of Transport inspected relevant airports in Mandalay Region.

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On the morning of December 21, 2025, Union Minister of Transport and Communications U Mya Htun Oo, accompanied by his officials, arrived at Nyaung-U Airport in Bagan, Mandalay Region. The Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority and other relevant officials warmly received the Minister and his delegation, and provided a detailed briefing on the progress of the Bagan Nyaung-U Airport upgrade project. Subsequently, the Minister and his delegation inspected various upgrade projects, including extending the runway by 25 feet on each side, laying nylon asphalt on the entire runway, and expanding and constructing the aircraft parking apron.

  During the inspection, the Union Minister gave instructions on the upgrade work, demanding strict adherence to the planned timeline, strict adherence to safety standards, and rigorous quality control.

  Afterwards, the Union Minister and his team arrived at Mandalay International Airport, where they received a briefing from airport officials on the damage to passenger lounges caused by the earthquake, the restoration of Burmese cultural relics, and the improvement of the airport's drainage system. They then conducted an on-site inspection.

  According to reports, the federal minister also instructed relevant airlines to continue their efforts to provide better service to passengers and distributed food and drinks to airport staff.
