
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – To fulfill its national governance responsibilities, the Myanmar government is actively carrying out a special operation to crack down on telecom fraud and online gambling. This operation not only coordinates with domestic security forces but also strengthens cooperation with neighboring countries to prevent such illegal activities from spreading within Myanmar. From November 24th to 26th, authorities conducted a concentrated enforcement operation in the area surrounding Mong Naw in Hlaing Township, southern Shan State, successfully arresting 26 foreign citizens and 8 Myanmar citizens suspected of related crimes, and seizing a large quantity of related equipment, weapons, and ammunition.
On November 24th, personnel conducting security duties in Hlaing Township discovered a suspicious complex of buildings in the northwest of Naung Tawk village and southeast of Mong Naw. Investigation confirmed that this location was suspected of being a telecom fraud and online gambling den. Although no suspects were apprehended on the spot, law enforcement officers seized a large amount of equipment used for illegal activities, including 28 tents of different sizes (5 40ft x 20ft, 6 20ft x 10ft, and 7 10ft x 10ft), 3 simple 10ft x 10ft sheds, 5 pig farms, 8 guard posts, 2 kitchens, as well as 150 plastic chairs, 1 large dressing table, 5 wooden chairs, 2 monitors, and 1 Starlink device.
On November 25, security forces raided another temporary base used for online fraud and gambling near the village of Caenhai, southeast of Monnau, seizing 35 tents of various types (including 3 70ft x 30ft and 2 40ft x 40ft), 3 generators, 1 mini-fridge, 1 freezer, 5 air conditioners, and a Land Cruiser vehicle.
On November 26, the law enforcement operation achieved a major breakthrough: near Wamukyiyan village in southeastern Mongnao, 12 buildings, one workshop, one warehouse, and four 80-gallon blue oil drums were seized; subsequently, in southern Naungtauk village, 26 Chinese citizens and 8 Burmese citizens were successfully apprehended. All individuals are suspected of involvement in telecommunications fraud and online gambling. Based on the suspects' confessions, security forces seized various weapons and ammunition in the vicinity of the village, including one MA-1 rifle, one MA-13 rifle, one AK-12 rifle, one carbine, one Winchester 12V rifle, 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 2 rounds of 12V rifle ammunition, and 3 magazines.

Currently, the seized items, temporary residences, and other facilities have been destroyed by fire. The arrested individuals are undergoing a full investigation and will be dealt with according to law; the foreign citizens will be repatriated to their respective countries based on humanitarian principles and friendly relations between nations after the completion of judicial proceedings. The seized weapons have also been processed according to relevant procedures.
