Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Myanmar handed over its first batch of Chinese workers from online scam centers to Thailand on Thursday. They will be repatriated to China via Thailand in the coming days.
AFP reports that thousands of foreigners are expected to be released and repatriated from scam parks in Myanmar in the coming weeks, starting with 600 Chinese nationals in the next three days.
These scam parks, operated by criminal syndicates, house foreigners, many of whom claim they were trafficked and forced into online scams, defrauding people around the world. Many of those involved are Chinese, and Beijing has demanded that Myanmar and Thailand close these centers.
