Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Building on strong growth in the first 11 months, Vietnam's tourism industry has officially entered its year-end peak season. Local governments and tourism businesses are launching a flurry of innovative products centered on technological applications, cultural experiences, and festive activities. Coupled with the unique features of popular destinations, market vitality continues to surge.
Key Data Shows Strong Market Demand
According to statistics from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, as of the end of October 2025, domestic tourists reached 125 million, and international tourists reached 17.2 million. Travel agency revenue exceeded VND 77.4 trillion (approximately RMB 20.36 billion), and accommodation and food service revenue reached VND 695.1 trillion (approximately RMB 182.92 billion).
Market activity has rebounded significantly. Nguyen Cong Hoan, General Manager of Flamingo Redtour, stated that tourist search demand for tour packages and accommodations grew rapidly in November and December, creating excellent opportunities for businesses to increase sales and conversion rates. BestPrice Marketing Director Bae Thanh Soo revealed that the company is focusing on expanding into the Australian, American, European, and North Asian markets. International tourist numbers are expected to continue rising from November 2025 to the first quarter of 2026, while domestic tourist numbers are expected to remain stable due to the year-end holidays.
Product Innovation Breakthrough: Integration of Technology and Culture
Digital experiences have become a core direction for tourism product upgrades. VR, AR technologies, and QR codes are widely used in cultural heritage tours. Quang Tri province launched the "Legendary Truong Son Route – Command Cave" virtual reality tour, which realistically recreates the historical scenes of Route 20 through VR technology, providing tourists with an immersive historical experience. The "try before you buy" model has effectively improved the conversion rate among younger customers.
Immersive cultural experiences are also gaining momentum. Provinces such as Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Dien Bien, and Thai Nguyen have launched programs such as wearing traditional costumes, cooking, tea picking and processing, brocade weaving, and nighttime cultural activities, allowing tourists to shift from "sightseeing" to "deep participation." Year-end promotional activities are also underway, with vouchers, e-vouchers, and flight packages further stimulating market demand.
Popular Destinations Fuel Peak Season Atmosphere
Several unique destinations have become year-end travel hotspots. Da Lat, with its cool climate, morning mist scenery, and Christmas lights, is experiencing a "room shortage" situation; Ho Chi Minh City is creating a lively atmosphere with year-end decorations and a New Year's Eve countdown on Nguyen Hue Walking Street; Phu Quoc Island is focusing on a "tropical Christmas" theme, offering a variety of outdoor recreational activities based on calm seas and warm sunshine.
Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, suggested that the tourism industry needs to strengthen digital communication in key source markets and actively carry out family trip activities to convert current opportunities into actual tourist traffic. With diversified product supply and strong market demand, the Christmas-New Year tourism season is expected to become an important "accelerator" for the industry, helping to achieve the 2025 development goals and ushering in a new growth cycle.
