Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of Christmas Day, December 25th, the first group of tourists to summit Fansipan Peak in Lao Cai Province, Vietnam, encountered a rare and spectacular snow and ice spectacle, their excitement palpable. At that time, the temperature at the summit was only 1 to 3 degrees Celsius, and the peak was completely covered in snow and ice, making it the perfect time to admire the snow and ice, chase the sea of clouds, and immerse oneself in the chilly Christmas atmosphere.
Quan Yingjun, a staff member at the Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area, explained that frost and ice appeared in areas above 3000 meters altitude starting in the early morning of December 25th. The approximately 0.5 cm thick layer of white, fluffy ice evenly adhered to the ground, railings, and other surfaces, transforming the summit into a pure white, cool world, adorned with crystal-like icicles that added a touch of fantasy.

Visitors arriving at the summit around 7:30 AM can simultaneously enjoy the dynamic beauty of melting ice and the magnificent sunrise at high altitude. Amidst the biting cold, Christmas trees made of corn and brocade, and the mountain ranges appearing and disappearing through the clouds, create a rich Christmas atmosphere, making the winter experience at Sapa and Fansibang Peak uniquely charming. Every detail showcases the distinctive character of the Northwest Mountains.
It's worth mentioning that the Sapa Snow Festival, themed "Sapa – Winter Dance in Cultural Context," is currently underway and will continue until January 1, 2026. The opportunity to encounter wondrous ice and snow at the summit of Fansibang Peak and enjoy the snowscape during this special festival still awaits visitors from all over. (End)
