Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On November 13, 2025, Ms. Souripon, Deputy Director of the Department of Treatment and Rehabilitation of the Lao Ministry of Health, led a working group to the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone in Bokeo Province to conduct research and guidance on the zone's medical services. Ms. Khamsavat, Deputy Director of the Administrative Management Agency of the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone, and Ms. Chanthongvong, Deputy Director of the Department of Treatment and Rehabilitation of the Bokeo Provincial Department of Health, accompanied the research.

The working group visited several private medical institutions in the special economic zone, gaining a detailed understanding of the entire process of patient reception, diagnosis, and treatment, and affirmed the achievements of each hospital in the field of medical services. At the Lao Oriental International Hospital, the working group learned that the hospital currently has 51 medical staff (38 of whom are women), including medical personnel of both Lao and Chinese nationality, and has three main departments: obstetrics, internal medicine, and surgery, equipped with relatively advanced medical equipment.

The working group also inspected the functional areas of the Golden Triangle Hospital, including the laboratory, pharmacy, operating room, dental clinic, ICU ward, X-ray room, and lithotripsy center. The hospital currently has 18 medical staff members (11 of whom are women) and possesses relatively comprehensive diagnostic and treatment service capabilities. In addition, the working group visited a primary healthcare service center for Myanmar migrant workers to understand the healthcare service situation in their communities.

This survey focused on core tasks such as improving the quality of medical services in the special economic zone, strengthening the disease prevention and control system, and standardizing the management of medical institutions. The working group emphasized that all private hospitals must strictly comply with laws and regulations to complete their practice licenses and related qualification procedures, adhere to medical ethics, equip themselves with facilities and equipment that meet modern medical needs, strengthen coordination and collaboration with relevant central and local departments, continuously optimize the treatment environment, and provide high-quality and efficient medical services to patients.
