  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Yesterday at 1 PM, the Myanmar Ministry of Transport held a ceremony at the Myanmar Railways headquarters in Naypyidaw to commemorate the 149th anniversary of the founding of Myanmar Railways. Deputy Minister of Transport U Aung Myint, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Communications U Ht Win Aung, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, and officials from relevant departments attended the event.

  At the ceremony, Deputy Minister U Aung Myint delivered a speech, reflecting on the development of Myanmar Railways and paying tribute to generations of builders. Following this, the General Manager of Myanmar Railways gave a brief report on the department's key work and achievements for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. During the event, all attendees watched a documentary commemorating the 149th anniversary of Myanmar Railways.

  Finally, Deputy Minister U Aung Myint, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, directors-general of relevant departments, and the General Manager of Myanmar Railways jointly presented awards to 91 outstanding individuals. The award recipients come from various railway stations, branches, factories, and railway system hospitals. They all demonstrated outstanding performance in their duties during the 2025-2026 fiscal year, and this award recognizes their positive contributions to the development of the railway industry.
