Huaphan Provincial Governor Khamphong Say Somphong, the provincial leadership team, public officials, and people of various ethnic groups from the surrounding areas of Viang Xai District actively participated in the grand event.
The core purpose of holding this double festival was to create a festive and peaceful atmosphere to welcome the important holidays of the Party and the State; at the same time, to inherit and promote the excellent cultural traditions of various ethnic groups, and to strengthen the cohesion of all ethnic groups in the district. In addition, the event also carries the mission of promoting the development of tourism in Viang Xai District and attracting domestic and foreign tourists. By building a platform for product display and trade, it helps merchants, traders, and people of all ethnic groups to broaden their income channels and continuously increase the economic income of the entire district.

The event featured a rich and diverse program, encompassing various distinctive activities: Traditional sports competitions included Malay dance, Malay kham, men's and women's volleyball, and women's artistic gymnastics; cultural performances showcased dances, songs, local folk songs, drum performances, and Malay opera, along with a gift-giving ceremony from the county's five major ethnic groups. Simultaneously, a traditional product exhibition was held, along with cultural tourism experiences such as cherry blossom viewing at the Lao-Japan Friendship Park and visits to the Viang Xai Memorial Area, comprehensively demonstrating the local characteristics and charm.
During the event, Governor Khamphong Saysomphong affirmed the achievements of the Viang Xai District Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups. He called on all parties to continue consolidating these achievements, focusing on strengthening the foundations of political stability, national peace, and ethnic unity, safeguarding the excellent cultural traditions of the nation, the district, and all ethnic groups, and passing them down through generations; at the same time, protecting historical sites and working together to promote higher-quality development and progress in Viang Xai District.
