
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Recently, officers and soldiers of the Myanmar Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with their families, gathered at the Sutao Piye Association Pagoda in Laoka Chanta, Zaya Tiri Township, to solemnly hold the 11th Kasong Bodhi Tree Watering Ceremony, celebrating the Buddhist year 1388.
The ceremony was attended by: Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Forces and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, General Kyaw Sa Lin, and his wife, Daw Nam Kyi Khou; Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Tin Win and his wife; Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Tun Win and his wife; and Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, Lieutenant General Ko Ko Oo and his wife. Also present were senior officers and their families from the Defense Forces, the Commander of the Naypyidaw Command and his wife, and representatives of defense officers, soldiers, and their families.
At the ceremony, military leaders and their wives offered oil lamps, flowers, and pure water to the pagoda in reverence. Following this, high-ranking officers and their families from the three branches of the armed forces together watered the Bodhi tree and sprinkled incense, following Buddhist traditions to pray and make wishes.
Kassun Full Moon Day is an important traditional Buddhist festival in Myanmar, coinciding with the height of summer. Local people traditionally sprinkle perfume and water on the Bodhi tree, praying for its evergreen vitality and longevity. This act also commemorates the Buddha's enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, expressing their devout faith and profound respect.
