Vietnam's first Hanoi Short Film Festival held

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 1st Hanoi Short Film Festival (Khue Star Award) in 2024 is one of the cultural events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2024). The opening ceremony of the 1st Hanoi Short Film Festival was held on the evening of the 26th at the Golden Boy Cinema.

  The festival, themed "Hanoi: A Thousand Years of Culture," brings together films about Hanoi, showcasing unique styles, diverse cinematic languages, and novel, innovative, and colorful perspectives on Hanoi's culture and customs.

  The 1st Hanoi Short Film Festival launched on May 22, 2024. To date, the organizing committee has received 32 entries, including 20 documentaries, 10 animated films, and 2 short films. All of these works hold a screening license or a broadcasting permit from the relevant authorities.

  In particular, the organizing committee held a free screening of the entries at the Golden Boy Cinema on August 24, serving the public and film enthusiasts in the capital.

  Phung Thi Mai Phuong, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Film Association and Head of the Organizing Committee for the 2024 Hanoi Short Film Festival, stated that this is the first time the Hanoi Film Association has organized a film festival aimed at encouraging filmmakers to be innovative and recognizing films related to Thang Long-Hanoi.

  The organizing committee expressed its hope that the Hanoi Short Film Festival will become a meeting place for filmmakers and film enthusiasts, a beneficial artistic event that helps promote the development of the capital's cultural industry and showcase the millennia-old culture and customs of Thang Long-Hanoi.

  During the festival, there will be seminars on film and short film production, screenings of domestic and international short films, and other activities.

  The closing ceremony of the first Hanoi Short Film Festival was held on the 28th at the Golden Din Cinema on Hang Pai Street. (End)
