He said that 2024 is a year of special significance for China and China-Cambodia relations. 2024 marks not only the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China but also the 66th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cambodia. These 75 years have meant tremendous changes and achievements for the Chinese people. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China's economy has developed rapidly, and its society has maintained long-term stability. It has become the world's second-largest economy, with an average annual GDP growth of 7.9% over the past 70 years. Hundreds of millions of rural poor have been lifted out of poverty, and China's average annual contribution to global economic growth reached 24.8% between 1979 and 2023.

He said that since the establishment of the new Cambodian government under Prime Minister Hun Manet, it has firmly adhered to the China policy formulated by the Cambodian People's Party. Strategic mutual trust between the two countries has been further consolidated, cooperation in various fields has maintained a positive momentum, and the ironclad friendship between China and Cambodia has been revitalized.

Wang Wenbin emphasized that currently, China is striding towards its goal of building a modern socialist country by the middle of this century, while the new Cambodian government has also proposed a development vision of becoming a middle-to-high-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050. The development goals of the two countries are highly aligned, injecting new contemporary meaning into the ironclad friendship between China and Cambodia and opening up broader space for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.
