
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) officially opened at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The King and Queen of Thailand presided over the opening ceremony, which was attended by Thai leaders, sports officials from the 11 ASEAN member states, members of participating delegations, and sports enthusiasts from Southeast Asia. Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, represented Vietnam at the opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games began with a light show showcasing the images of the 11 Southeast Asian countries and offering greetings in their respective languages, echoing this year's theme, "We are one – connected by the SEA." (This can be interpreted as "We are one – connected by Southeast Asia" or "We are one – connected by the ocean.")
The opening ceremony also reviewed highlights from the previous 32 Southeast Asian Games. Vietnam has the honor of hosting the Southeast Asian Games twice, in 2003 and 2021.
Following this, the 11 sports delegations participating in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games entered the stadium.

In his opening address at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand emphasized that the Games are an important opportunity to showcase the friendship and brotherhood among Southeast Asian nations. He wished the 33rd Southeast Asian Games to be held harmoniously, transparently, and fairly, achieving all its lofty goals and further strengthening the close relations among countries in the region.
The 33rd Southeast Asian Games are being held in Thailand from December 9th to 20th, with 11 ASEAN countries participating. Nearly 9,400 athletes will compete in 50 sports. The Vietnamese sports delegation has sent 1,165 members to the Games, including 841 athletes, competing in 47 sports and events. (End)
