Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On December 16th, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports held a press conference to introduce the 2025 Hanoi Food Culture Festival, themed "Hanoi – A Culinary Journey of Connection and Innovation."
At the press conference, Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, stated that the Food Culture Festival is a platform for culinary artists to tell their stories and connect with the younger generation through a variety of activities, and is expected to attract widespread attention from citizens and tourists.
This year's Food Culture Festival will feature 60 exhibition spaces showcasing Hanoi's and other regional delicacies, providing citizens and tourists with opportunities to experience Hanoi and some local specialties. Through this event, the value of traditional culinary cultural heritage will be promoted, highlighting the "Hanoi Cuisine" brand, which embodies the "elegant and refined" cultural characteristics of Hanoi.
Notably, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will announce at the opening ceremony its decision to include the "Chap Cá Lã Vọng" (Chả cá Lã Vọng) cooking and tasting technique in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
According to the organizing committee, Hanoi has conducted a comprehensive survey of its intangible cultural heritage since 2014, identifying hundreds of culinary heritage items and listing them on the city's heritage list.
At a press conference, Masafumi Shimamura, Marketing Director of Acecook (Vietnam) Joint Stock Company, revealed that in November 2025, the company signed a five-year strategic cooperation agreement with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the *Economy and City Newspaper* to jointly protect and promote the value of Vietnam's culinary culture industry. Pho, a symbol of Vietnamese cuisine, has been identified as a key focus, with the goal of increasing promotional efforts and gradually pushing it towards UNESCO recognition as an intangible cultural heritage, while also widely disseminating it internationally.
The 2025 Hanoi Food Culture Festival is scheduled to be held from December 19th to 21st. (End)
