Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee recently released its organizational plan for a series of activities to welcome the 2026 New Year, including an artistic fireworks display scheduled for 00:00 to 00:15 on January 1, 2026.

Three high-altitude fireworks launch sites will be set up in Ho Chi Minh City: the Saigon River Tunnel entrance area (An Khanh Ward), the new city center (Binh Duong Ward), and Tam Thang Square (Vung Tau Ward). Additionally, a low-altitude fireworks launch site will be set up at Cultural Park (Binh Thanh Ward). Funding for the fireworks display will come from social resources.

Besides the fireworks display, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a number of cultural and artistic activities. Highlights include a New Year's Eve countdown event on the evening of December 31 at Nguyen Hue Walking Street, the Le Loi Road extension area, Lam Son Park, and the City Theater.

Meanwhile, the "2025 Dawn Begins" event will be held on December 31 at Tam Thang Tower Square in Vung Tau Ward, including a New Year's morning run, a yoga performance, and evening art programs. The Food Culture Festival will be held from December 27, 2025 to January 1, 2026 in Hou Tan (Vung Tau Ward).

In addition to the wards in the central area, cultural performances will also be held on the evening of December 31 in various districts of Ho Chi Minh City, including Dau Dinh, Xuan Son, Binh Khanh, and Phu Thanh. Furthermore, the Youth Cultural Palace, universities, vocational schools, dormitories, export processing zones, and industrial parks will organize a variety of New Year's celebrations.

To welcome the New Year, Ho Chi Minh City will illuminate and decorate its central streets. Important historical and cultural sites such as the City People's Committee office building, the City Theater, the Museum, and the City Post Office will also have their lighting systems activated simultaneously.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has tasked the City Department of Culture and Sports—the resident agency of the City's Major Festivals and Commemorative Activities Organizing Committee—with overseeing and coordinating the implementation of the plan, ensuring security at event venues, and promptly handling any emergencies.
