A highlight of the December 2025 events is the promotion of the Ko To ethnic culture in Da Nang. Simultaneously, the "Highland Echoes" cultural and artistic exchange activities will include folk art performances and folk song singing, with participation from people of various ethnic groups such as the Sedan and Dawo.
From January 1st to 4th, 2026, the "Mountain Market – Welcoming the 2026 New Year" themed space will be the highlight of the event. The market will feature 40 stalls offering food, local specialties, and traditional handicraft experiences, recreating the lively New Year celebrations of various ethnic groups in the northern mountainous region. The Khmu and Hmong peoples of Son La province will present traditional performances including lusheng (a type of reed pipe instrument) playing and folk song singing. On January 3rd, a harvest prayer ceremony will be reenacted in a Khmu village.
From December 2025 to early 2026, the tourist village will also offer several special activities on weekends: in the northern ethnic villages, visitors can experience the Tay and Nung people playing the tianqin (a type of stringed instrument), watch Hmong lusheng dance performances, participate in folk games such as throwing embroidered balls, and taste local delicacies such as smoked beef and five-colored sticky rice. The Central Highlands Cultural Space will showcase performances of gongs and stone zithers, present textile weaving techniques, folk songs and dances, and traditional wedding scenes.

Representatives from the Vietnam Ethnic Cultural Tourism Villages stated that this series of events aims to showcase the unique cultural characteristics of the Lunar New Year, allowing tourists to gain a deeper understanding of the traditional cultures of various ethnic groups and contributing to the preservation and promotion of these cultures. Simultaneously, it strengthens exchanges and unity among ethnic groups, enriches the cultural tourism product system, and improves the tourism product offerings of the villages. (End)
