Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the afternoon of January 8th, Cambodian Minister of Mines and Energy, Kao Rao Dana, attended the opening ceremony of a company's electric vehicle charging station and the launch of a new electric vehicle. He pointed out that Cambodia is steadily advancing the construction of a nationwide electric vehicle charging network, aiming to provide strong support for the public and businesses in the transportation and logistics sector by reducing energy costs and promoting green travel.

Minister Kao Rao Dana noted that, building on the solid foundation laid by Senate President Hun Sen, Cambodia has always considered the construction of a stable, reliable, and environmentally friendly power supply system as a top priority for national development.

He said that under the leadership of the new government under Prime Minister Hun Manet, reforms in Cambodia's power sector have continued to deepen. Kao Rao Dana revealed that, thanks to the government's strategic focus on clean energy, the proportion of clean energy in Cambodia's national power grid will reach approximately 63% by 2025, a figure that signifies significant progress in Cambodia's energy transition.

Kao Rao Dana emphasized that the pilot launch of a large-scale charging station in Phnom Penh is a key measure to implement the government's policy of promoting socio-economic development through power sector reform. The commissioning of this facility will have multiple positive impacts: improved infrastructure will enhance consumer confidence and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in Cambodia; the development of green transportation will directly contribute to the socio-economic transition towards low-carbon sustainability; and electrified transportation will effectively reduce operating, transportation, and logistics costs for individual users and related businesses, enhancing their competitiveness.

Minister Kao Lok-Dana concluded by stating that the Ministry of Mines and Energy will continue to optimize the industry environment and encourage more private enterprises to participate in the construction of clean energy infrastructure, jointly building an efficient and modern national energy and transportation system.
