
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Cambodian General Department of Immigration recently held its annual work summary meeting. The official report released at the meeting showed that in 2025, the department achieved significant results in maintaining national immigration control order and combating illegal activities by foreigners, deporting a total of 13,557 foreign nationals from 66 countries for violations.
Data shows that the total number of foreign nationals deported in 2025 increased by 7,705 compared to 2024, representing a year-on-year increase of 56.83%. This increase fully reflects the Cambodian authorities' significantly increased efforts to crack down on illegal entry and residence over the past year.
In terms of the origin of the deportees, the 13,557 deportees came from 66 countries and regions worldwide. Of these, 4,806 were from mainland China, 383 from Taiwan, 3,456 from Vietnam, 1,476 from Indonesia, 963 from Pakistan, 534 from Thailand, 345 from India, 247 from Myanmar, 241 from Bangladesh, 229 from the Philippines, 222 from South Korea, 191 from Malaysia, and 40 from Japan.
The report also disclosed that in 2025, the General Department of Immigration's working group investigated 5,011 cases of various types of illegal activities involving foreigners, apprehending a total of 9,857 individuals involved in illegal activities.
According to the General Department of Immigration's summary, from 2014 to November 30, 2025, over the past 11 years, through routine enforcement, the department has legally repatriated 47,134 foreign nationals from 112 countries.
The General Department of Immigration reiterated that it will continue to strictly enforce the Immigration Law, deepen cooperation and coordination with relevant departments, resolutely combat all types of illegal immigration activities and illegal and criminal activities involving foreigners within Cambodia, and make every effort to safeguard national social security, stability, and public order.
