More than 100 Cambodian athletes will receive training in China in 2026.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Recently, Vuoch Chhum Nam, Secretary General of the Cambodian National Olympic Committee, stated that, with the joint support and cooperation of the Cambodian and Chinese governments, Cambodia plans to send over 100 athletes to China in 2026 for high-level professional sports training.

  This training program in China is based on a sports cooperation agreement reached between the Cambodian and Chinese governments. It aims to comprehensively improve the competitive level of Cambodian athletes by utilizing China's advanced training facilities and technology through a special scholarship program, thus building a strong foundation for upcoming major international competitions.

  Secretary General Vuoch Chhum Nam clarified the core development goals for 2026: advanced skills training in key sports; continued reform and optimization of national sports federations; and, as an important strategic deployment in preparation for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, the National Olympic Committee has formulated a specific action plan, striving to achieve a breakthrough in the medal standings beyond simply qualifying for the Olympics.

  2026 will be a "big year" for Cambodian sports. The National Olympic Committee plans to send delegations to participate in a series of Asian and world-class sporting events, including the 20th Asian Games, the 6th Asian Beach Games, the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, and the 4th Summer Youth Olympic Games.

  Vac Chhrom emphasized that actively participating in international Olympic events is not only Cambodia's responsibility as a member of the International Olympic Committee, but also an important opportunity to showcase national honor. This training trip to China and the comprehensive preparations for the events mark a solid step forward for Cambodia in enhancing its international sporting competitiveness and promoting the modernization of its sports sector.
