Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Cambodian Minister of Information, Nyongphat, recently expressed his heartfelt gratitude to domestic and international journalists stationed in Cambodia, especially those who remained steadfast in their posts and accurately conveyed the true situation in Cambodia to the world during the Thai military's armed invasion of Cambodia.
Minister Nyongphat particularly praised the domestic and international journalists stationed along the border who delivered accurate information, especially those from major international news organizations. He thanked major news organizations such as AFP, AP, Reuters, Europhotonies, Xinhua, Channel News Asia, Al Jazeera, Phoenix TV, CNN, France 24, Le Monde, BBC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, and The Independent for their coverage.
Minister Nyongphat also expressed his special thanks to Cambodian media outlets that risked their lives to conduct on-the-ground reporting in the war-torn provinces. He emphasized, “Cambodia National Television and the Cambodian News Agency (AKP) play a central pivotal role in providing information from the front lines. Private broadcasting and television organizations, as well as other new media platforms, are also actively involved in information dissemination, including independent media, influential figures, and social media users. You are all authentic voices, bringing genuine information to combat lies.”
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information stated that Cambodia is ready to welcome more international journalists to Cambodia for reporting. The Ministry of Information places great importance on the safety of journalists during the war.
He added that Ministry of Information officials are actively involved in coordinating reporting trips and, when necessary, assisting journalists in liaising with relevant authorities to ensure the smooth progress of their reporting.
The Minister of Information solemnly declared, “I am also deeply saddened that a Cambodian journalist who was injured while reporting on the morning of December 8, 2025, was unfortunately struck by shrapnel, resulting in a laceration to his lip.” The Ministry of Information will continue to monitor and support the work and health of all frontline journalists.
