Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – In response to recent reports in some Thai media outlets citing senior officials threatening to block sea lanes through the Gulf of Thailand to disrupt fuel and military supplies to Cambodia, Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transport spokesperson Phung Lin firmly refuted these claims, emphasizing Cambodia's determination and capability to safeguard its maritime independence and autonomy.

Phung Lin pointed out that some Thai media outlets recently cited senior Thai officials claiming they might close and prevent goods from being transported to Cambodia via the Gulf of Thailand. Cambodia believes that such statements and actions, regardless of the pretext, are essentially serving an aggressive intent, attempting to provoke incidents and escalate the conflict with Cambodia.

He solemnly stressed that Cambodia is a sovereign nation and cannot be coerced.

Phung Lin reiterated that Cambodia possesses a diverse and interconnected maritime cargo port system with the potential for continued development. This existing and planned network of seaports, while adhering to international laws and regulations, can guarantee the country's independence and autonomy in the maritime sector, ensure the safety and unimpeded flow of cargo, and safeguard the country's legitimate rights and interests.

In response to potential changes in the situation, Peng Lin stated that Cambodia has fully assessed the situation. He emphasized that Cambodia will closely monitor developments and take all necessary and appropriate measures in accordance with the law to resolutely respond to any provocative actions by Thailand and any attempts to escalate the conflict.
