Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Cambodian Ministry of the Interior released an update on the civilian casualties and property damage resulting from the eighth day of the Cambodian-Thai border conflict.
From the 7th to 6 PM on the 14th of this month, the ongoing conflict has resulted in at least 12 Cambodian civilian deaths and 75 injuries.
The Thai side's use of various weapons and methods to intensify its attacks on civilian areas from land, sea, and air has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in the border region. Currently, the number of displaced Cambodian civilians exceeds 400,000.
The Thai attacks have not only caused casualties but also severely damaged local infrastructure and civilian property. According to the announcement, destroyed and damaged property includes 36 homes, one school, one tax building, four temples and historical sites, four casino buildings, three hotels, one gas station, and one cassava warehouse. Basic services such as administration, health, and education in the affected areas have almost completely ceased. The ongoing conflict and attacks on civilian areas have made it difficult for the government to maintain public services, and the normal lives of local residents have been severely affected.
