Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Minister-Counselor Dooth Vuongswe of the Cambodian Permanent Mission to the United Nations reported to the UN General Assembly on December 10 during the general debate at UN Headquarters in New York that since December 7, the Thai military has repeatedly violated Cambodia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, including using heavy weapons, conducting indiscriminate bombing, and using cluster munitions and toxic smoke bombs against civilian buildings and other civilian sites.

Dooth Vuongswe emphasized that these actions seriously violate international law and infringe upon Cambodia's territorial integrity. He urged Thailand to immediately cease all hostilities, stop using heavy weapons, and stop bombing civilian areas. Furthermore, the Cambodian representative called on Thailand to reinstate the Kuala Lumpur Peace Agreement Joint Statement signed on October 26, 2025, by the heads of government of both countries and witnessed by US President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the ASEAN Chair.

The theme of this general debate was "Strengthening UN Coordination of Relief and Assistance for Natural and Humanitarian Disasters (including Special Economic Assistance)." Cambodia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Ambassador Kao Chee, represented by Minister-Counselor Doo Thu Van Swee, attended the meeting. Cambodia stated that after exercising its right to self-defense and retaliating against Thailand's continued offensive for over 24 hours, it did so to defend its national sovereignty.

Currently, Cambodia continues to urge the international community to pay attention to the current situation through UN mechanisms and calls on Thailand to return to the framework of the peace agreement to resolve the border dispute through dialogue.
