Cambodia and France held high-level working talks to deepen cooperation in tourism and vocational education and jointly

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Cambodian Ministry of Tourism recently held a high-level working meeting with the French Embassy in Cambodia, focusing on strengthening cooperation in tourism development and vocational education, and jointly promoting Cambodia's tourism professional education to international standards. On December 4th, Cambodian Minister of Tourism Iapha Hathaway and French Ambassador to Cambodia Oliver Richard held a special working meeting on this topic, exchanging in-depth views on expanding bilateral tourism cooperation.

  During the meeting, Ambassador Richard reiterated France's firm support for the development of Cambodia's tourism industry. He reviewed the achievements of several previously implemented cooperation projects and clearly pledged that France will continue to provide more assistance and support to Cambodia in the tourism and hospitality sectors, helping to upgrade its related industries.

  Minister Hathaway expressed his deep gratitude and high praise for the long-term support from the French government, people, and the French Embassy in Cambodia. He pointed out that France has consistently provided support to Cambodia's national recovery and development across various sectors, with a particularly significant contribution to tourism. He also expressed special thanks to the Embassy for actively promoting Cambodia's tourism potential and investment opportunities, truthfully conveying to French investors and the public the current state of political stability, social peace and security, and good public order in Cambodia, thus laying a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation.

  Minister Hua Ha emphasized that thanks to the accumulated positive cooperation between Cambodia and France, the number of French tourists visiting Cambodia has continued to grow, and France has firmly established itself among Cambodia's top ten source markets, becoming a crucial pillar of Cambodia's tourism industry.

  The meeting yielded fruitful results. Both sides also conducted in-depth and constructive discussions on preparations for the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026, agreeing to work together to enhance the attractiveness, vitality, and richness of the "French-speaking Village" during the summit. Both sides reached a consensus to use this international summit as an important platform to fully showcase Cambodia's tourism potential and investment opportunities to high-level delegates and all participants, further expanding Cambodia's international reputation and influence.
