
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Phnom Penh police in Cambodia recently cracked a transnational online fraud case, arresting 28 suspects, including 27 Vietnamese nationals and one Cambodian man.
On December 1st, Phnom Penh police raided a villa in Borey Park Villa, Vientiane sangkat, Chroy Changvar district, arresting the aforementioned 28 individuals.

According to preliminary police investigations, the criminal gang primarily used various methods to defraud victims, including but not limited to: "online romance" scams (pig butchering scams), using fake romantic relationships to gain victims' trust and money; and extortion, forcing victims to pay ransoms or money through threats and intimidation.
During the raid, law enforcement seized a large number of tools used in the online fraud, including a large number of computers, various SIM cards, and multiple mobile phones.

Currently, all arrested individuals have been transferred to the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Station, where police will conduct further investigations and handle the case in accordance with relevant Cambodian laws and regulations.
