This operation aimed to protect the safety of citizens and tourists, maintain public order, and be prepared to provide emergency assistance to tourists in need.
The Phnom Penh municipal authorities attach great importance to the comprehensive management of the Walk Street area, including continuously ensuring the safety of tourists and the stability of the area; maintaining good public order, including the standardized arrangement and layout of food stalls and other shops; ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the Walk Street area to create a comfortable and pleasant leisure environment; and focusing on and improving various basic supporting facilities.

Phnom Penh Mayor Khun Sreng emphasized that relevant local authorities and functional departments must continuously and uninterruptedly ensure a good safety, order, and clean environment. The Mayor pointed out that a safe, clean, and orderly urban environment is a key factor in attracting domestic and foreign tourists for leisure and entertainment, and is of great significance to enhancing Phnom Penh's overall image and tourism competitiveness.

Thanks to the city government's continued efforts, significant progress has been made in the management of the pedestrian area. As residents and business owners have widely reported, the number of visitors to Phnom Penh Pedestrian Street is steadily increasing, rivaling the bustling scene of Cambodia's traditional Water Festival.
