Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of October 31, 2025, Han Sahe, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Cambodia and Head of the Northeast Region Investment Promotion Working Group, chaired an important meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting reviewed and formally approved special preferential policies for 11 investment projects in the second round, with a total investment of approximately US$400 million, expected to create approximately 800 jobs.

Among the investment projects approved in this round, the multi-functional port and supporting facilities project in Kratie Province was the biggest highlight and focus. With a total investment of approximately US$350 million, the project, upon completion, will become the first multi-functional port in Kratie Province and even the entire Northeast region, significantly enhancing the region's waterway transportation capacity. It will promote the region's development into a logistics hub for agricultural and industrial products and lay a solid foundation for future connection to the Funan-Dachung Canal waterway logistics system.

In addition to the aforementioned port project, this round of investment also covers other projects in the four provinces of Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, and Mondulkiri, involving several important sectors, including agricultural planting and processing, hotels and resorts, educational institutions, private medical care, and transportation infrastructure.

The enormous investment potential of Northeast China is attracting increasing attention from multinational investors. Currently, the working group has received dozens of proposals from investors in China, Japan, Vietnam, and locally. Many investors, after learning about the region's specific investment promotion policies, have expressed strong interest in further expanding their businesses.

At the meeting, Mr. Han Saha, head of the working group, emphasized that to seize development opportunities, the Northeast Investment Committee and the provincial investment subcommittees should actively promote relevant preferential policies; provide investors with comprehensive support and streamlined procedures; and continuously optimize the regional investment environment. He also requested that the working group regularly visit project sites to proactively understand and assist in resolving the difficulties faced by investors, thus effectively implementing Prime Minister Hun Manet's governing philosophy of "being a problem solver."

Meanwhile, Mr. Han Saha instructed relevant ministries and agencies to actively cooperate with the Northeast Economic Corridor in leveraging its "single window" role, promoting efficient and transparent "one-stop" services, and truly becoming an important partner for the private sector's development in Northeast China.

He further pointed out that while enjoying policy benefits, investing companies should also earnestly fulfill their commitments, focusing on job creation, technology transfer, and innovative applications, promoting the transformation and upgrading of the industrial chain from simple production to processing, and creating more added value for the country's economic and social development. It is reported that as of October 31, 2025, the Northeast Economic Corridor has received 21 investment project proposals, with a total investment of approximately US$700 million. This fully demonstrates investors' confidence in the future development of Northeast Cambodia.
