The Guangzhou Municipal Celebration of International Workers' Day and Commendation Conference for Model Workers, Advanced Workers, and Advanced Collectives (hereinafter referred to as the “Conference”) was held on the 29th. 72 model workers, 8 advanced workers, and 40 advanced collectives from Guangzhou were commended.
It is understood that this commendation fully considered representativeness, breadth, and mass participation from various sectors, including industry, political affiliation, ethnicity, and gender. He added that integrated circuits are a national strategic industry, and Guangzhou is making every effort to build itself into the core area of China's third integrated circuit hub. He will continue to dedicate himself to the frontline of wafer manufacturing, focusing on technological breakthroughs and talent cultivation, leading his team to deeply cultivate chip R&D and production, enhancing Guangzhou's reputation for "intelligent manufacturing," and contributing to Guangzhou's high-quality development and the nation's technological self-reliance.
He Guangwei, a Guangzhou model worker and employee of Guangzhou Shipyard International, appeared at the commendation ceremony in work clothes. "This honor belongs not only to me personally, but also to every Guangzhou Shipyard employee who has silently contributed to China's shipbuilding industry," said He Guangwei. He stated that he will use this honor as motivation to continue focusing on cutting-edge technologies in polar scientific research and deep-sea exploration, cultivating more young craftsmen, and contributing to the construction of a maritime power and the upgrading of Guangzhou's high-end equipment manufacturing.
According to a relevant official from the Guangzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, Guangzhou currently has 3,280 model workers and advanced workers at all levels (including those receiving benefits). Among them are 184 national model workers (advanced workers), 1,244 provincial model workers (advanced workers), 147 ministerial model workers (advanced workers), and 944 municipal model workers (advanced workers); in addition, there are 114 recipients of the National May 1st Labor Medal and 647 recipients of the Provincial May 1st Labor Medal.
