Customs officers at Baiyun Airport, under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou Customs, noticed a passenger on an inbound flight exhibiting stiff gait and bulky clothing while using the "nothing to declare" channel. Upon inspection, officers discovered a large number of weight-loss injections, totaling 1,594 vials, concealed in the passenger's abdomen, back, thighs, and calves. The passenger confessed to carrying the vials for a fee.
Customs reminds the public that injectable drugs are classified as Class III medical devices. According to the "Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Medical Devices," imported medical devices must obtain a registration certificate and be accompanied by Chinese labels and instructions that comply with regulations and mandatory standards. Devices without a registration certificate are prohibited from import.
