Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 25th, the "City Partnership, Welcoming Spring with Blessings – Guangzhou Calligraphy and Painting Masters' Public Welfare Spring Festival Calligraphy Activity" warmly opened at Haixinsha Asian Games Park. Over a thousand citizens gathered on the banks of the Pearl River, immersing themselves in the festive atmosphere where calligraphy and painting blended with the river scenery. Through calligraphy and painting creation and interactive experiences, they shared their hopes for the New Year.

On the day of the event, several renowned calligraphers and painters gathered at the writing platform in the central square of Haixinsha, laying out paper and ink, and spontaneously creating Spring Festival couplets and the character "福" (Fu, meaning good fortune), conveying New Year blessings. Lian Deng, a member of the China Calligraphers Association and honorary chairman of the Guangzhou Calligraphers Association, took the lead, completing a Spring Festival couplet in running script, "The Pearl River nourishes the city with early spring, the clouds and mountains are verdant with long-lasting blessings," in one go. His powerful strokes and elegant style attracted many citizens to stop and admire, taking photos to record the moment.

The "Public Welfare Calligraphy Zone" set up on-site was extremely popular, with citizens queuing in an orderly fashion to receive handwritten works by renowned calligraphers and painters. Ms. Li, a citizen, happily remarked after receiving customized couplets with her 6-year-old daughter that the interaction between the "Dawan Chicken" mascot and the calligrapher was very eye-catching; this combination of traditional calligraphy and trendy IP made the New Year's atmosphere more vibrant and fun.

Besides the core calligraphy and blessing activity, the interactive area became a popular spot for families. Children, accompanied by their parents, participated in activities such as printing New Year pictures and writing wish cards. The wish wall was filled with children's innocent wishes, capturing their hopes for the New Year. Retired teacher Ms. Liu, who brought her grandson to experience three different activities, remarked that the integration of the "Dawan Chicken" IP made traditional culture more attractive and encouraged the younger generation to actively engage with intangible cultural heritage.

The "Dawan Chicken" mascot parade and interactive segment brought the atmosphere to a climax, with the adorable mascots interacting warmly with citizens and taking photos. Many families extended their cultural experiences into the evening, creating unique New Year memories of "appreciating calligraphy by day and watching lanterns by night." Mr. Zhao, who brought his whole family, said that the IP elements made the calligraphy and painting activities more youthful, with both the elderly and children benefiting and immersing themselves in the charm of traditional culture.

The event also incorporated a philanthropic aspect, with organizers presenting "heartwarming lucky bags" containing "Dawan Chicken" themed Spring Festival couplets to sanitation workers, delivery drivers, and other outdoor workers, conveying the city's warmth through cultural care.

It is understood that this event was the third in a series of post-Games activities utilizing the Guangzhou National Games IP. A relevant official from the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism stated that the event, using the "Dawan Chicken" IP as a link, promoted the transformation of the National Games legacy into tangible and participatory cultural assets, allowing the Haixinsha venue to continue to thrive after the Games, further inheriting the Lingnan cultural heritage, and showcasing Guangzhou's innovative spirit and humanistic warmth.
