Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to a report released by the Guangzhou Railway Bureau on January 1st, the bureau experienced its peak passenger flow during the New Year's Day holiday, with an estimated 2.807 million passengers transported, an increase of 1.101 million passengers, or 64.6%, compared to the same period last year.

A relevant official from the Guangzhou Railway Bureau's Passenger Transport Department explained that the first day's passenger flow exhibited a distinct "center-radial" characteristic, spreading densely from core cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Changsha to surrounding towns. Popular long-distance routes were concentrated on routes from Guangzhou/Shenzhen to Hunan, Guangxi, Chengdu/Chongqing, and Fujian, while short-distance routes within the province were busiest on routes from Guangzhou/Shenzhen to Chaoshan, Qingyuan, and Huizhou.

It is noteworthy that this New Year's Day holiday was the first extended holiday after the opening of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway and the Shantou-Shantou South section of the Shantou-Shantou High-Speed Railway. Among them, the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway, leveraging its "two-hour living circle" advantage, fully integrates western Guangdong into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, becoming the preferred mode of travel between the Pearl River Delta and western Guangdong. On its first day, it transported 25,000 passengers, mainly for family visits and tourism between Guangzhou and Zhanjiang/Maoming.

The Shantou-Shantou South section of the Shantou-Shantou High-Speed Railway effectively revitalized travel in eastern Guangdong, transporting 29,000 passengers on its first day. Passenger flow was concentrated on routes from Shantou to Shenzhen and Guangzhou. The significantly shortened travel time between eastern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta, along with the convenient travel experience, attracted a large number of passengers to choose high-speed rail.

To fully accommodate the surge in passenger traffic, the Guangzhou Railway Bureau of China Railway precisely explored transportation potential and implemented multiple measures to increase capacity supply. On New Year's Day, 150 additional trains will be added, including 146 high-speed trains. On January 2nd, another 52 overnight high-speed trains will be added, with a focus on increasing capacity on popular routes such as the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway, Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway, Guiyang-Guangzhou Railway, Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway, Shenzhen-Zhanjiang Railway, Zhangjiakou-Jishou-Huaihua High-Speed Railway, and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway, ensuring smooth passenger transport.

On January 1st, Guangzhou South Railway Station launched the "Orchid Charm of Shaoguan, Blossoms on the Journey" orchid culture promotion event. The event featured orchid displays, cultural and creative product sales, and intangible cultural heritage performances. A cultural corridor told the story of the orchid industry's development, and "Orchid Fairies" interacted with passengers, giving blessings. A live broadcast also opened a channel for purchasing high-quality orchids, realizing the public welfare value of "buying orchids to help farmers." This unique event, integrating cultural dissemination, interactive experiences, and charitable consumption, injected a touch of elegance into the busy travel journey, making holiday travel more heartwarming.
