Meteorological data shows that from 8:00 AM on June 19th to 8:00 AM on June 20th, 52 counties (cities, districts) in 10 prefecture-level cities in Guangxi experienced heavy rain, and 27 counties (cities, districts) in 5 prefecture-level cities experienced torrential rain. Yong'an Township in Yongfu County, Guilin City, experienced extremely heavy rain, with rainfall reaching 254.6 mm. The heavy rainfall mainly affected northern Guangxi.
Due to the heavy rainfall, some road sections in Xing'an County, Lingui District, and Yongfu County of Guilin City were closed due to flooding and landslides. A landslide occurred on the slope behind a house in Donglan County, Hechi, trapping and injuring people; urban flooding occurred in Bama Yao Autonomous County. From 8:00 AM on June 19th to 8:00 AM on June 20th, seven hydrological stations on seven rivers in Guangxi recorded flood levels exceeding warning levels by 0.11 to 1.22 meters.
To prevent safety risks, Tian'e County in Hechi City implemented control measures on the section of the river from Longtan Dam to Guwang Bridge, suspending all water-related activities and recreational activities. Dragon boat activities were canceled or postponed in Binyang County of Nanning City, Hepu County of Beihai City, and Cangwu County of Wuzhou City, among other places. The 2026 Fangchenggang City Maritime Dragon Boat Race, originally scheduled to start on June 20th, was also postponed.
At 11:00 AM on June 20th, five hydrological stations on five rivers in Guangxi recorded flood levels exceeding warning levels by 0.05 to 1.81 meters. The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Hydrological Center continued to issue a blue flood warning at 11:30 AM.
The Guangxi Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a level-three rainstorm warning at 10:30 AM on June 20th. The meteorological department predicts that heavy rainfall will continue in northern Guangxi on the 20th, with the rain weakening from the 21st to the 22nd.
