Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) In recent days, the Chongzuo Detachment of the Guangxi Armed Police Corps organized a series of themed activities for retiring veterans in the spring of 2026. These activities, while bidding farewell to the military and continuing the legacy, marked a perfect end to the military careers of the retiring veterans and inspired the remaining officers and soldiers to continue their struggle and faithfully perform their duties.
At the veterans' story-sharing session, officers and soldiers sat together, and representatives of the retiring veterans took turns to the stage to share their stories of dedication, steadfast commitment, and fulfillment of responsibilities in southern Xinjiang, drawing on their own experiences.
"In September 2024, Typhoon 'Mangkut' ravaged southern Xinjiang with torrential rains. We rushed to the disaster area to evacuate affected people, working tirelessly for two days and two nights. But when we saw the warm smiles on the faces of the people, all our fatigue instantly vanished," said veteran Zhang Yiquan, whose sharing instantly brought everyone back to that time fighting on the front lines of disaster relief.
The vivid and true stories, the sincere and simple words, deeply moved every officer and soldier present. Listening to their stories, they gained a deeper understanding of their initial aspirations and drew strength from them. New recruit Wang Borun said, "The veterans' stories deeply touched me. I also want to follow in their footsteps and continue the struggle, realizing my life's value by rooting myself in and guarding the frontier."
"Private comrade, I am about to retire from active service. I now hand over my weapon to you. Please take over the mission and create new glories. Take this rifle!" At the solemn and respectful weapons handover ceremony, the retiring veterans handed over their rifles, embodying responsibility and glory, one by one to their comrades remaining in the service.
"This rifle has accompanied me through countless days and nights of guarding. Today, I hand it over to you. I hope you will cherish it as you cherish your own life, shoulder the mission, and live up to the trust placed in you!" The veterans' words were powerful and resolute. What the remaining soldiers received was not only a rifle, but also loyalty and dedication to their posts.
"Salute to the sentry post!" Before the sentry post, retiring veterans stood in neat rows, their postures upright, slowly raising their right hands to offer their final military salute to the post they had guarded for so many years. Their gazes lingered on the post, this "small piece of land" that witnessed their growth from green recruits into qualified soldiers, bearing witness to their hundreds and thousands of days and nights of steadfast dedication and responsibility.
"When I first went on duty, my palms were sweating with nervousness. It was the squad leader who taught me how to observe, be on guard, and handle situations. Now that I'm leaving, what I'll miss most is this sentry post that witnessed my growth," said veteran Jia Ming, his arm motionless in salute, his voice firm and strong: "Although I'm about to leave the military, my belief in loyalty and responsibility will never change."
The recent series of themed activities not only allowed the retiring veterans to fully feel the warmth and care of the organization, but also powerfully promoted the continuation and inheritance of the military's fine traditions. The retiring veterans expressed that they will carry the training and entrustment of the military, never forgetting their original aspirations, forging ahead with determination on the new journey of life, and writing a new chapter of brilliance in their lives.
