Southeast Asia Information Harbor News (www.dnyxxg.com) – “Guangxi will leverage the Fangchenggang International Medical Open Pilot Zone to build the China-ASEAN Medical Imaging Sharing Center. It will collaborate with key hospitals and medical universities in ASEAN countries to jointly establish cross-border clinical verification and demonstration bases, promoting the pilot application of mature medical imaging equipment and AI products,” said Sui Guohua, Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, at a recent press conference for the National Medical Insurance Image AI Recognition Competition.

The National Medical Insurance Image AI Recognition Competition, co-hosted by the National Healthcare Security Administration and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, will be held in Guangxi from August to October this year. The competition focuses on AI technology applications and medical image-assisted diagnosis, featuring eight tracks covering common diseases such as lung cancer, kidney cancer, and thyroid cancer.

Sui Guohua explained that ASEAN countries currently have a strong demand for AI applications. Guangxi, with its concentration of cross-border cooperation platforms such as the China-ASEAN Information Harbor and abundant ASEAN language talent and corpora, possesses favorable conditions for AI technology transformation, scenario implementation, and industrial promotion. Guangxi will leverage the National Medical Insurance Image AI Recognition Competition to accelerate the development of a medical imaging industry cluster and build an industry application system oriented towards ASEAN.
