
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On November 8, 2025, the 15th Cross-Strait Chinese Language Publishing and Cultural Creativity Academic Forum and the 4th Fujian-Taiwan Cultural and Communication Academic Symposium opened in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province.
Since its inception in 2005, the Cross-Strait Chinese Language Publishing Forum has been committed to promoting academic exchanges and practical cooperation between the publishing industries on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, serving as an important platform for high-level dialogue in the publishing and cultural creativity fields. According to the organizers, this year's forum, themed "Chinese Language Publishing and Cultural Communication: Digital Innovation Paths in the Continuation of Tradition," brought together experts, scholars, and industry professionals from both sides to conduct in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge topics such as "Innovation of Cross-Strait Publishing Cooperation Mechanisms," "Smart Publishing and Governance of Chinese Language Content Ecosystem," "International Communication of Chinese Language Publishing," and "Inheritance and Innovation of Chinese Culture Across the Strait," jointly exploring the path of integrated innovation and high-quality development for the publishing industries on both sides of the Strait in the intelligent era.
In her opening remarks, Liao Zhidan, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Minnan Normal University, pointed out that this forum, combined with the "Academic Symposium on Fujian-Taiwan Culture and Communication" initiated by Minnan Normal University, covers two major research directions: Chinese-language publishing and Fujian-Taiwan cultural communication. She expressed her hope that the participants would achieve fruitful academic results through in-depth discussions and intellectual exchanges, injecting new vitality into the publishing and cultural communication undertakings across the Taiwan Strait, and contributing to the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese culture in the digital age.
Chen Dan, Vice President of Beijing Institute of Printing, stated that this forum, themed "Chinese-language Publishing and Cultural Communication: Digital Innovation Paths in the Continuation of Tradition," directly addresses the changes of the intelligent communication era, focusing on key issues such as artificial intelligence, digital publishing, copyright governance, and cultural identity. This not only keeps pace with the times but also demonstrates the forward-looking vision and sense of responsibility of the academic communities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Bai Gui, Chairman of the Cross-Strait Academic Forum on Chinese-language Publishing and Cultural Creativity, stated that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait share the same language and culture, and are connected by blood. They possess natural advantages and broad development space for cooperation in areas such as sharing publishing resources, expanding markets, applying technology, and cultivating talent.
The opening ceremony coincided with a donation ceremony for the "Qiaoxin Book Garden" project by the China Overseas Chinese Publishing House. This cultural brand project will be established at the School of Journalism and Communication of Minnan Normal University, helping to create a high-level platform for cultural exchange and education.
This forum was hosted by Minnan Normal University, the Council of the Cross-Strait Chinese Language Publishing and Cultural Creativity Academic Forum, and the Data Journalism Committee of the China Science and Technology Journalism Society. It was jointly organized by the School of Journalism and Communication of Minnan Normal University, the Cross-Strait Communication Research Center of Minnan Normal University, the Zhangzhou Research Base of Cross-Strait Relations Theory of the Fujian Provincial United Front Theory Research Association, and the School of Journalism and Communication (School of Publishing) of Hebei University.
