Renmin University of China held the opening ceremony for its first Overseas Governance Elite Class.

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The opening ceremony of the 2025 Overseas Governance Elite Class (hereinafter referred to as the "Elite Class") of the Global Leadership Institute of Renmin University of China was held in Beijing on the 8th.

  This year's Elite Class consists of 32 students from Southern African countries such as Tanzania, South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe. They are the first cohort of students at the Global Leadership Institute, with an average age of around 40, and the youngest being 28.

  Zhang Donggang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University of China, stated that the Elite Class students are all elite members from the Six Sisters Parties of Southern Africa, shouldering the important responsibility of jointly promoting modernization and building a community with a shared future between China and Africa. They will undoubtedly become a key force in promoting cultural exchange and human progress. He hopes that the Elite Class students will become promoters of common development, guardians of universal security, facilitators of human civilization's progress, and responsible builders.

  According to the university, the Elite Class students will receive online teaching and offline research, pursuing master's or doctoral degrees. Following the opening ceremony, the more than 20 students who have come to China will conduct study tours in cities including Beijing, Yueyang, Jinggangshan, Fuzhou, Yiwu, and Suzhou.

  On November 4, 2024, Renmin University of China established the first Global Leadership Academy among universities nationwide. (End)
