Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – With the arrival of the Spring Festival consumption peak season, a large quantity of tropical fruits from Southeast Asian countries are entering the Chinese market via the China-Laos Railway. From the start of this year's Spring Festival travel rush (February 2nd) to February 12th, the China-Laos Railway transported a total of 2,584 tons of imported tropical fruits, an increase of over 22% year-on-year.

Since its opening in December 2021, the China-Laos Railway has facilitated the transport of Southeast Asian tropical fruits such as durian, bananas, dragon fruit, and mangosteen to households across China via the Lancang-Mekong Express international freight train. The railway department employs a "mixed trainset" transportation scheme combining fresh produce and general cargo to precisely meet the "small-batch, multiple-batch" cross-border transportation needs of small and medium-sized enterprises.

"The Lancang-Mekong Express train takes approximately 26 hours to transport goods from Thailand to Kunming," said Lei Wenwu, Deputy General Manager of Yunnan Datai International Trade Co., Ltd. He added that as the "golden channel" effect of the China-Laos Railway continues to unfold, it will drive more high-quality Southeast Asian goods into China, further enriching the choices of Chinese consumers for their New Year's goods.
