  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On February 3, local time, Seif al-Islam Gaddafi, the second son of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, was killed in a gun attack in Zintan, western Libya.

  According to reports from AFP, AP, and other media outlets, Seif al-Islam Gaddafi's political advisor, Abdullah Othman Abdurrahim, disclosed the news of his death via Facebook. Seif al-Islam Gaddafi's cousin, Hamid Gaddafi, also confirmed his father's death through Libyan media, but did not provide further details.

  According to Abdullah Osman Abdulrahim, around noon on February 3, four masked gunmen broke into Saif al-Islam's home after destroying security cameras, shot and killed him, and then fled the scene.

  According to Turkish Anadolu Agency and other media reports, Saif al-Islam was the second son of Muammar Gaddafi, born in Tripoli in June 1972. He was 53 years old at the time and was once considered Gaddafi's successor. In August 2011, Gaddafi's regime was overthrown by force. In November of the same year, Saif al-Islam was captured by a militia in Zintan. In July 2015, a Tripoli court sentenced Saif al-Islam to death in absentia, but he was later pardoned. Afterward, Saif al-Islam resided in Zintan.
