  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim Geon-hee, wife of former South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl, filed an appeal on the 2nd against the court's first-instance verdict in her corruption and bribery case.

  The report states that Kim Geon-hee's side submitted the appeal to the 27th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court that day. It is speculated that Kim Geon-hee's side may argue that the first-instance court's guilty verdict was flawed in its factual findings and application of law, and that the sentence was inappropriate.

  According to reports, the Seoul Central District Court issued its first-instance verdict on the aforementioned case on the 28th of last month, sentencing Kim Geon-hee to one year and eight months in prison and ordering the confiscation of 12.815 million won in illicit gains.
