The report stated that in 2025, the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, in conjunction with relevant authorities, investigated 17,500 cases of illegally carrying and transporting goods across borders. Among these, 344 cases involved drugs, with a total seizure of over 1.5 tons of drugs; 847 cases involved weapons and ammunition. In the Caspian Sea, Kazakh border guards investigated 607 cases of illegal fishing and seized 226 vessels.
Furthermore, in 2025, the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan conducted 48 border operations and implemented 2 inter-departmental special operations, focusing on combating the illegal flow of drugs and illegal immigration. During the same period, Kazakh border guards also participated in 5 international operations, which were carried out within the framework of multilateral mechanisms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
