Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 3rd local time, Colombia announced the temporary closure of its land border with Venezuela due to heightened tensions.

On the same day, US President Trump stated that the US had successfully conducted strikes against Venezuela, capturing Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife, and removing them from Venezuela.

Earlier that day, explosions were heard in Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, followed by air raid sirens. Witnesses reported multiple explosions near military facilities in southern Caracas, and power outages were reported in the affected areas. Reports also indicated helicopters circling over Caracas, and telecommunications services were disrupted in some areas. Following the explosions in Caracas, explosions were also heard at a military base in Maracaibo and airports in the northern states of La Guaira and Miranda.

The Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly rejecting, condemning, and exposing to the international community the extremely serious military aggression committed by the US government against Venezuelan territory and people.
