Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A spokesperson for the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense issued an official statement on December 21, providing an update on the Cambodian-Thailand border conflict. The statement strongly condemned the ongoing armed attacks by Thailand, which have resulted in serious civilian casualties, and urged Thailand to immediately cease all hostile actions.

The Ministry of National Defense spokesperson confirmed that as of 6 PM on December 20, the 15-day border conflict had resulted in the deaths of 19 Cambodian civilians and injuries to 79 others.

Latest battle reports indicate that from the afternoon of December 20 to the morning of December 21, Thai troops continued their offensive. Thai forces continued to launch heavy artillery bombardments on multiple frontline positions in the 4th Military Region of Oddar Meanchey Province and the 5th Military Region of Banteay Meanchey Province. Simultaneously, Cambodia detected Thai military reconnaissance drones repeatedly illegally intruding into Cambodian airspace, seriously violating Cambodian territorial sovereignty.

The Cambodian Ministry of National Defense strongly condemns Thailand's military actions. The spokesperson pointed out that Thailand's use of heavy weapons not only targeted military objectives but also directly endangered the safety of innocent civilians and regional cultural heritage. This action blatantly violated relevant international law and the bilateral peace agreement signed by the two countries.

In its statement, Cambodia made three solemn demands: the Thai military must immediately cease all hostile and provocative actions; Thailand should promptly withdraw its armed forces from the disputed area and Cambodian territory; and Thailand must bear full responsibility for its aggression and the resulting civilian casualties and property damage.
