Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The French Ministry of the Interior confirmed on the 17th that it had recently suffered a cyberattack, with its official email system compromised, police databases illegally accessed, and dozens of confidential documents stolen. French officials revealed that evening that a 22-year-old suspect had been arrested.
According to French media reports, the attack occurred between December 11th and 12th. Investigations show that the suspect obtained account passwords by hacking into the official email accounts of Ministry of the Interior staff, and then accessed the Ministry's internal systems, illegally viewing criminal records and wanted person files. French Interior Minister Nunes stated that the incident exposed security lapses in internal operations.
Nunez initially confirmed that dozens of criminal records were "illegally exported," but the scope of the leak is currently unknown, and the nature of the incident is "very serious."
French officials stated that a 22-year-old suspect has been arrested, but his name and other identifying information have not yet been released. Paris prosecutors revealed that the suspect had been convicted of a similar crime earlier this year and was on police record. (End)
