Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy announced on the 21st that he will publish a memoir recounting his prison life, titled "Prisoner's Diary."

Sarkozy showcased the cover and title page of the memoir on social media that day. In the title page, he wrote that in prison, he "couldn't see anything, couldn't do anything," and that "quiet was simply nonexistent in prison; it was filled with all sorts of noises." He also stated that prison life tempered his will.

Sarkozy's memoir is being published by a French publishing house. According to the publisher, the book is currently available for pre-order at a price of €20. The book is relatively short, only about 200 pages. Sarkozy stated that the book will be available in bookstores across France on December 10th.

On September 25th, Sarkozy was sentenced to five years in prison by a Paris criminal court for allegedly illegally accepting campaign funds from former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. He went to Lassanthe Prison, near the center of Paris, on October 21 to serve his sentence, becoming the first former president of the Fifth French Republic to be imprisoned. On November 10, the Paris Court of Appeal ruled in favor of Sarkozy's request for release, pending appeal. Sarkozy was released that afternoon.

The 70-year-old Sarkozy served as President of France from 2007 to 2012. In recent years, he has been embroiled in numerous legal cases. (End)
