Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On November 3, 2025, the launch ceremony for the international passenger bus route between Mohan Station and Boten Station on the China-Laos Railway was held at the square in front of Mohan Railway Station in China, witnessed by representatives from both China and Laos. This marks the official opening of the first international passenger bus route operated by China and Laos using a public transport model.

It is understood that the route is approximately 16 kilometers long, with Mohan Railway Station in China and Boten Railway Station in Laos as its starting and ending points. Stops can be made at border crossings between the two countries for passenger replenishment. The entire journey takes 50 minutes, with 5 departures daily. This route is not only a "connecting line" to deepen the friendship between China and Laos, but also a "happiness line" serving the livelihoods of people in both countries, and a "demonstration line" to promote greater openness between the two sides.

The opening of this route is a beneficial exploration and practice in promoting "soft connectivity" of rules and standards between China and Laos, improving border clearance efficiency, and optimizing cross-border transportation services. This initiative has significantly improved transportation convenience in the China-Laos border region, providing a safe, efficient, comfortable, and economical new option for cross-border travel for people of both countries and travelers from a wider area. It vividly embodies the fundamental principle of the Belt and Road Initiative—to benefit the people.

Next, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Transportation will continue to uphold the principles of consultation, joint construction, and shared benefits, working closely with Laos to continuously improve cooperation mechanisms, pay close attention to passenger needs, actively explore more diversified and personalized transportation service models, focus on improving service quality, ensure the safe, stable, and efficient operation of the route, and strive to develop it into an international premium and benchmark route.
