His Excellency Liu Fan led a delegation to visit the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education to promote Cambodia-China

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On October 27, a delegation led by His Excellency Liu Fan, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia and Head of the Overseas Student Management Group of the Prince and Mrs. Hun Sen Scholarship Association (AMT), visited Mr. Liu Gang, Member of the Education Working Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Admissions and Examinations Authority. The two sides had in-depth discussions on topics such as educational cooperation, scholarship programs, and student further education.

  During the meeting, Secretary Liu Gang warmly welcomed His Excellency Liu Fan and the delegation and introduced China and Yunnan Province's educational policies and measures, particularly scholarships for international students, particularly Cambodian students. He stated that as Cambodia's "strong friend," China has always attached great importance to supporting Cambodia's human resources development. In recent years, the number of Cambodian students studying in Yunnan Province has increased significantly, increasing by 75% compared to 2024, with 92% of these students receiving scholarships. This achievement has become a key driver for the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education to continue deepening educational cooperation and expanding scholarship quotas. At the meeting, His Excellency Liu Fan thanked the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education for its long-term care and support for Cambodian students and reported on the annual progress and future plans of the Hun Sen Scholarship Association (AMT) in its scholarship programs in China. He stated that under the leadership of Cambodian First Lady Bichamphan Mony, AMT will continue to fulfill its mission of securing opportunities for outstanding Cambodian students to study in China, further expand scholarship channels, and consolidate close cooperation with the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and Chinese universities.

  H.E. Hua Sophara, Consul General of Cambodia in Kunming, highly praised the fruitful educational cooperation between AMT and the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education during the meeting. He noted that the excellent reputation of Cambodian international students in Yunnan universities is inseparable from the joint efforts of both educational departments and the AMT team.

  H.E. Hua Sophara also expressed hope that AMT and the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education will continue to deepen their cooperation, not only achieving new breakthroughs in education and scholarships, but also serving as a bridge and goodwill ambassador in culture, tourism, and investment, further enhancing the deep friendship and brotherhood between the two peoples.

  It is understood that under the instructions of Mrs. Pichan Mony, Chairperson of the AMT Scholarship Committee, a delegation led by His Excellency Liu Fan, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Head of the Overseas Students Management Group of the Prince and Mrs. Hun Sen Scholarship Association (AMT), will visit China from October 27 to November 11, aiming to promote Cambodia-China educational cooperation, expand scholarship quotas, and contribute to Cambodia's human resources development.
