
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone held a working breakfast on the morning of the 27th while attending the 47th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia. They pledged to continue promoting close cooperation in multiple areas and further deepen the building of a community with a shared future among the three countries.
During the meeting, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone congratulated Cambodia and Thailand on the joint statement signed in the presence of US President Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The three leaders then shared information on progress and priorities in cooperation across various sectors, including economy, trade, tourism, and security and defense. The leaders agreed to continue strengthening and further expanding cooperation in connectivity, particularly in transportation, electricity supply, and digital payments.
Regarding cooperation with Laos, Prime Minister Hun Manet urged relevant authorities in both countries to expedite site selection for the construction of a cross-border bridge. Regarding cooperation with Vietnam, Prime Minister Hun Manet urged relevant authorities in both countries to expedite the identification of connecting points for the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway and the Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai Expressway.
In the tourism sector, the three leaders agreed to instruct their tourism ministers to continue discussions aimed at promoting tourism cooperation under the "Three Countries, One Destination" framework. Prime Minister Hun Manai particularly emphasized the importance of private sector participation in promoting tourism cooperation.
Finally, Prime Minister Hun Manai expressed gratitude to Vietnam and Laos for their past support and participation in the Interim Observer Team (IOT) mechanism and expressed hope that both countries would continue to support and participate in the future ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) mechanism.
