Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the afternoon of March 19th, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce held a business promotion symposium for foreign chambers of commerce in Hong Kong. Presidents and vice-presidents from 10 foreign chambers of commerce in Hong Kong, representing countries including the Arab world, Brazil, the UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, attended the meeting. Zhang Jingsong, Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, presided over the meeting and delivered a presentation.
Director Zhang Jingsong introduced the latest economic and social developments in Guangdong, its key future development directions, and cooperation opportunities. He expressed hope that the foreign chambers of commerce in Hong Kong would continue to play a bridging role, attracting more multinational companies to Guangdong and sharing the benefits of Guangdong's high-quality development. He also offered specific suggestions for strengthening cooperation between the Guangdong Provincial Economic and Trade Representative Offices in Hong Kong and the foreign chambers of commerce, requiring quarterly symposiums to be held to promptly follow up on the investment plans and demands of member companies, and to jointly organize visits to Guangdong by member companies and business matchmaking events in Guangdong.
The presidents and vice-presidents of the foreign chambers of commerce in Hong Kong introduced their respective member companies and their cooperation needs, and offered suggestions on Guangdong's commerce work. During his stay in Hong Kong, Director Zhang Jingsong also visited Jefferies Financial Group, Goldman Sachs Group, and Swire Group, held discussions with senior executives of the groups, and attended the Guangdong Province 2026 Spring Banquet (Hong Kong).
