Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) With the Spring Festival approaching, and a large number of people returning home, the demand for water in rural areas is surging, and some areas may experience water shortages, potentially causing inconvenience to residents during the holiday.

The Guangdong Provincial Department of Water Resources stated that, to ensure a safe, peaceful, and joyful Spring Festival for the public, Guangdong's water resources departments have taken proactive and multi-pronged measures to guarantee a stable and orderly rural water supply during the holiday.

The Guangdong Provincial Department of Water Resources explained that many cities have implemented scientific and precise scheduling and rational allocation of water resources to ensure a balance between supply and demand; they have relied on a comprehensive engineering support system to conduct thorough inspections and maintenance of water supply facilities to improve supply capacity; and they have strengthened supervision, strictly controlling water quality safety and water supply service standards, comprehensively strengthening the water supply safety defense line to ensure that the public has access to safe and reliable water during the Spring Festival.

In eastern Guangdong, Shantou City adhered to the principles of "early deployment, early action, and early implementation," earnestly fulfilling its industry regulatory responsibilities and comprehensively ensuring rural water supply during the Spring Festival. Targeting weak links in water supply in mountainous areas, Shantou City implemented rural water supply engineering maintenance projects.

In Chaonan District of Shantou, the local government took the lead in formulating the "Chaonan District Spring Festival Tap Water Supply Guarantee Work Plan," establishing a leading group for water supply guarantee and four special working groups for production guarantee, emergency repair, water quality safety, and logistical support, constructing a closed-loop supply guarantee system.

In Shaoguan City of northern Guangdong, facing challenges such as a large number of people returning home for the holiday, frost prevention in northern Guangdong, and regional drought, Shaoguan City proactively investigated and addressed issues such as insufficient water volume, water quality risks, and insufficient pipeline pressure at key water supply points, ensuring the safe and stable operation of rural water supply projects.

Shaoguan City conducted a thorough investigation of water sources, focusing on water reserves and water quality trends, accurately identifying areas prone to water shortages, and developing contingency plans and allocation schemes in advance to ensure a balance between rural water supply and demand and that water quality meets standards during the holiday.

In the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Jiangmen City, located on the west bank of the Pearl River, held a meeting on rural water supply security during the Spring Festival. The meeting mobilized all resources for water supply security and urged counties and districts to coordinate with towns, villages, and village-level water management personnel to conduct a special investigation into the water storage status of rural water sources such as ponds and small reservoirs.

Jiangmen's Xinhui, Kaiping, and Heshan districts and counties have cumulatively investigated 75 water sources and promoted the early completion of water storage and equipment and material reserves for 121 water supply projects. Simultaneously, a comprehensive investigation of potential hazards from the source to the tap was conducted, covering 32 towns and 106 administrative villages, with a total of 131 investigations and 356 personnel deployed.
